One thing the two of us can agree on is that we both like surprises - the good kind, anyways. Not the scary monster jumping out of a closet kind of surprise. You know the feeling you get when you open a nice gift? That kind of surprise. I often wonder if dogs feel the same kind of joy opening gifts as humans do. It's probably not exactly the same, but similar I'd imagine.
My love of surprises has sparked my interest in monthly subscription boxes these past couple of years. So when Surprise My Pet asked if they could send Shiner one of their surprise boxes of goodies for dogs, neither of us could say no.
About Surprise My Pet Monthly Subscription Box
Surprise My Pet is a monthly subscription box plan for dogs. They curate their boxes to contain quality products for your dog and strive to save pet parents time and money by sending goodies straight to their doorstep. None of the treats or chews in the boxes are made in China, and inspected for safety before shipping out. And Surprise My Pet supports several charities too.
The video below explains the process perfectly if you're unfamiliar with how monthly subscription boxes work.
When you sign up for Surprise My Pet, you'll select your dog's size so that they can send over goodies that are suitable for your dog. You wouldn't want a toy made for a chihuahua to give to your German Shepherd after all.
You can choose from a variety of plans ranging from monthly to yearly. If you were to select a yearly plan, the savings increase dramatically per box.
The Surprise My Pet monthly subscription box plans will renew each month automatically, but you can cancel your subscription at any time. There is a $5 shipping fee per box and as of now, Surprise My Pet only offers US shipping.
You can order a subscription for your dog at SurpriseMyPet.com. You can also keep up with them on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
What's Inside Our Surprise My Pet Box?
Curious as to what we received inside our box? We got a nice selection of mostly treats and toys, and something else that was great for me as a human. Shiner was quite excited when her Surprise My Pet box came in the mail, and she knew it was for her. We both had fun opening the box together to see what was inside.
Puffsters All Natural Air-Puffed Snack Chips
These treats are very light, airy, and crunchy. They are glycerin free, soy free, and corn free. It's actually a very large bag of treats that I imagine is going to last us quite a while. These are made in the USA. Shiner seems to enjoy them and I can hear them crunching when she eats them.
Jack for Joy Dog Toy
This is a pretty interestingly shaped toy. At first, I thought it was one of those massage contraptions but it's not! This toy is made in the USA out of SAN which is a non-toxic plastic. It's supposed to be ultra durable, and I imagine that it is because it's very hard.
I am thinking I will probably not give this toy to Shiner because of her recent tooth surgery. The vet says she has several teeth that are in danger of becoming fractured, and so I've taken away all hard toys from her as precaution.
Handy Solutions Lint Roller
This is a pocket sized lint roller that fits perfectly in my purse without taking up too much space. Perfect because I always seem to have some sort of dog or cat fur on my clothing.
Flavorit Peanut Butter Bone
This dog toy has small little "cells" in it. You can spread peanut butter on it and it will fill the small cells as well. Of course, you can fill it with other tasty spreads besides peanut butter if you want. The Flavorit bone is dishwasher safe, making it easy to clean. Shiner absolutely loved this toy when I took it out and I hadn't even put peanut butter in it yet.
This toy is also quite hard, but I might let Shiner use it under supervision as long as she mostly just licked it and didn't try to tear into it too much.
Ry's Ruffery Healthy Dog Treats
Apparently, these dog treats have made an appearance on TV's Shark Tank. The treats are grain-free, made with peanut butter, and made in the USA. They smell delicious and are crunchy. Shiner seems to enjoy them and I'm happy with the ingredients list.
Bow Wow Pals Tennis Balls
Tennis balls are a classic favorite and Shiner loves them! What more is there to say? These were definitely her favorite item in her Surprise My Pet Box.
