For example, would you feed a senior diet to your 3 month old puppy? No. Puppies have different nutritional needs than senior dogs and their diet should be able to support their high energy levels.
Today, I wanted to introduce my readers to a new food by Purina - Just Right. This dog food is personalized to support an individual dog's nutritional needs. Shiner started her Just Right by Purina diet this month and is doing well with it.
How does it work? The process is very simple to go through. Simply visit JustRightPetFood.com and create a profile for your dog. You can even upload your dog's picture, and this will appear on your personalized bag of dog food. You can see Shiner's photo on her bag of special food.
To create Shiner's special Just Right blend of dog food, I visited JustRightPetFood.com and entered her general information - age, breed, size, sex, and weight. Then, I answered more questions about Shiner. How active is she? When does she eat her food? How is her skin and coat? How is her stool consistency? These are all questions asked so that Purina can personalize a special blend of food for you dog.
Right now, they offer three protein sources - lamb, salmon, and chicken. We decided on creating Shiner's blend with Lamb. Just Right by Purina also has the option of creating a grain-free dog food blend if you would prefer not to include grains in your dog's diet.
After spending a few minutes creating Shiner's Just Right blend, we just waited for the food to arrive so she could give it a try. It came within a few short days. The packaging includes the amount of food I should feed her daily too.
If you ever needed to make any changes to your dog's diet, no problem. Simply visit your dog's profile on Just Right's website and make updates as needed. Shiner's diet is formulated just for her - a senior, medium-sized, fairly active dog with moderately itchy skin from time to time. Her Just Right blend is grain-free too. When it's time for me to re-order her food, Purina sends me a reminder.
Shiner and I are pleased with our special Just Right by Purina thus far. We will continue to share our journey with this new food and let you know how things are going. In the mean time, you can follow Just Right on Twitter @JustRightPets and on Facebook.
Do you think your dog has special nutritional needs? If so, what are they and how do you accommodate them?
We received Just Right by Purina dog food at no charge in exchange for an honest review. No other compensation was received. Pawsitively Pets only shares information we feel is relevant to our readers.
